A BETTER NIGERIA WOULD BE POSSIBLE

A better Nigeria would be possible If bribery had not become the order of the day
If corruption was not on the throne
If Peter was not being rubbed to pay Paul
If everybody was determined to veer our great country To a fitter and tranquil encompassment
A better Nigeria would be possible
If we had exposed different set of people Who saw white and called it black And had medication for instant cure but refused to apply it
If our fundamental rights were not being denied
A better Nigeria would be possible
If our elbow room were not occupied by nincompoop
If we were not being governed by hoodlums Who ate deep into our country’s possession If there was a promising child to redeem our country Nigeria
From her ugly, sad and pathetic situation
A better Nigeria would be possible
If we had rebuked those who kept up appearances like a cankerworm
If our resources were not being stolen away by the wolves
For the advancement of other advanced countries
If our wealth were not being surrounded by alien invader Who ate in and took away our resources
A better Nigeria would be possible
If the worthy citizens of the country were appreciated
If the worthy citizens were not desolated, rejected and condemned
By the self-centred citizens
For their loathsome and repulsive acts
A better Nigeria would be possible
If all hands were on deck
To improve our kingdom
From her deteriorating condition
To fortify our great territory
Against sycophants and bootlickers
A better Nigeria would be possible
If our elbow room was not occupied
By culprits who had sold her to her arch-enemy
And still blamed her as brass farthing
If our people elected divine politicians Who did not care to have twenty buildings, thirty cars and over flowing accounts both in the country and abroad
A better Nigeria would be possible If our leaders did not forget the electorates after being elected
If the leaders knew that the land belonged to everybody even the less privileged
If our leaders did not equate being in power with being in money
If representatives actually represented the electorates
A better Nigeria would be Possible.
